Vintage 1969-1970 Gibson SG Standard - Cherry Red with Original Case in Beddau, Rhondda Cynon Taf for sale

1969-1970 Gibson SG Standard. Absolutely killer 1969-1970 vintage Gibson Les Paul SG Standard in the original cherry finish. Gibson Custom Shop charges tons of money for their "Heavy Aged" models, but this one has 100% genuine and authentic wear from years of being played. Good sign that it hasn't lived in the case all it's life, so it must be a good one! Dating vintage SG's accurately can always be a bit problematic but the serial number and features (neck join, headstock logo, type of neck join and volute) indicate late 1969 - early 1970. It looks like a late 1969 SG that wasn't assembled until 1970. This style of neck join ended mid 1970 but the lack of large volute and lack of "Made in the USA" stamp would mean it's pre mid-1970. Features every solder joint untouched, original 'PAT NO' black sticker pickups, original 1970 dated pots. No 'Made in USA' on back of the headstock. Has tiny neck volute. Showing tons of honest play wear and finish checking. The neck has a chunky rounded profile. Headstock has never been broken or repaired. The original frets show wear but still have lots of life left in them. Nice low action. Just had a full set up and fret dress and check over by Gareth Lewis Guitars in Cardiff so it plays amazingly.
